Bazata makes the call
After making another visit to Iowa City on Thursday, which was his fourth in the last couple of months, Nebraska defensive tackle Nathan Bazata decided that he had seen enough. The 6-foot-2, 270-pound Bazata talked it over with his parents this weekend and gave the Hawkeyes his verbal commitment on Sunday. We caught up with the three-star prospect to talk about his decision, his future at Iowa, and much more.
Q: Did you make the decision today?
BAZATA: Yes, I'm a Hawkeye.
Q: What went into it and deciding to do it today?
BAZATA: I went up there on Thursday and brought my mom up and she approved and my dad approved and I think it's awesome up there, so that's what made me decide.
Q: Can you tell me about making the call today and how it all happened?
BAZATA: I called Coach Morgan and he was pretty excited. Then he told me to call Coach Ferentz and tell him, so I talked to him and told him too. They were both pretty excited.
