Big OL staying patient

At 6-foot-8 and 337 pounds, you are not going to find many players bigger than Zach Borens in the state of Iowa. Going into his senior year, the Marion offensive lineman continues to pick up Division I interest, but is still waiting for his first scholarship offer. As the season begins, Borens plans to focus on his own team and hopefully let the recruiting process take care of itself.

"I'm just trying to be as patient as I can and not let it affect how I play this season," said Borens. "I've just got to go out there and do my thing on the field to the best of my ability and whatever happens will happen."

One of the schools showing interest in Borens has been Iowa, whose coaching staff got an up-close him at their one-day camp over the summer. On Saturday, the Class of 2013 prospect made the short drive over to Iowa City to watch the Hawkeyes' scrimmage at Kinnick Stadium.

"It was a good visit," Borens said. "They didn't really tell me much new recruiting wise, but they said they'll continue recruiting me and will be watching my film this season."
