Appleman staying patient
After moving from Indiana to Illinois this spring, offensive lineman Jacob Appleman continues to pick up more college interest locally. This week, the 6-foot-4, 305-pound Appleman, who will attend Rock Island Alleman in the fall, added his first two scholarship offers. Could the Hawkeyes be next? The Iowa coaching staff got a long look at the Class of 2014 prospect at two of their camps this month and gave him some positive feedback.
"Well, at Iowa, first I went up for their camp on June 10," said Appleman. "Then I e-mailed the coaches saying thanks for the camp and everything and they said I did a really good job. I asked if it would help me at all in their eyes if I came up for another camp and they said sure, they'd love to see me again at another camp."
"So I went to their camp again on Wednesday because I'm just trying to get myself in front of the Iowa coaches as much as I can," he continued. "They said I did very well again and they'd definitely be in touch and are excited to have me come down this fall for a game."
