Florida QB visits Tide

Land O' Lakes, Fla., quarterback Joe Weatherford is becoming a hot name in the South when it comes to signal callers.

Weatherford, 6-foot-4, 190-pounds, entertained some of the top schools in the nation during the May evaluation period. The University of Alabama was one of those schools and over the weekend Weatherford made the trip to Tuscaloosa for an unofficial visit.

"Coach (Dave) Ungerer had come by my practice to watch me and he saw me at NIKE camp. He said he liked what he saw, so he showed Coach (Dave) Rader my film and they asked me to come up for a visit. So my brother, Will, drove me up there this weekend and we had a great trip," Weatherford said. "It was really cool because it was just the four of us and the coaches showed us everything on the campus. The stadium was awesome. They are doing some renovations and it's going to be very impressive when they are done. The whole campus was nice and it was cool getting to hang out with just me and the coaches."
