Missouri hosted junior prospects from far and near on Saturday. But none of them had a shorter trip than Trey Millard. The linebacker from Rock Bridge High School simply had to drive a couple miles down Providence Road to get to Missouri's junior day.
"It was fun, it was a really good time," Millard said. "I went over there with my mom and a few of my friends. It was a good chance to see the complexes again, see the coaches again."
The Tigers were Millard's first offer, but that was recently joined by a scholarship from Stanford.
"I plan on going and seeing them in the summer possibly," Millard said. "I'm not going to make a decision until I make a few more visits."
Millard visited Kansas last week and is also getting interest from South Carolina as a tight end. He said the rest of the schools are recruiting him as a linebacker or defensive end. Growing up just a few miles from the campus at Mizzou, will Millard be tough to pry away from the Tigers?
"I've always looked at them and thought it would be cool to play for them," Millard said. "But it's weird now that it's actually a possibility that I could actually play there. But I'm looking at it as everybody's pretty much even right now."
PowerMizzou.com will release its list of the top prospects to watch in the Show-Me State for 2010 later in the week and you can expect Millard to be on that list.
