Woodbury talks Elite Camp and recruiting

Adam Woodbury is one of the top prospects in the state of Iowa for 2012 and the Sioux City big man already holds an offer from the Hawkeyes. He spent the past two days in Iowa City at the Iowa Elite Camp, working with the Hawkeye coaches. He talks about that experience, how his summer went playing with a talented Martin Brothers 15's team, and he updates the list of schools showing interest in him.

Q: What did you think of camp?

WOODBURY: I loved it. I got a lot out of it and I was happy to be here.

Q: Did you learn a lot and did it help playing against guys like Cougill and Cody Larson?

WOODBURY: Yeah, I learned some new moves that I can put in my arsenal and try to use them in a game. It was good to compete against those guys too. That will only help me become a better player.

Q: The end of the summer was pretty good for your Martin Brothers team. Talk about the trip to Orlando for two tournaments.

WOODBURY: I thought that we played real well down there. We got second at the Showcase and then we got 14th and beat by a buzzer shot at 16's nationals. I thought that we played really well as a team and got the job done.

Q: How did you get better this summer and in what areas?

WOODBURY: I just tried to stay in the gym as much as possible and worked to get stronger. I worked on polishing my moves and just keep working as hard as possible.

Q: What is your plan now after the AAU tournaments in July and this camp?

WOODBURY: Just keep working hard.

Q: What was the message from the coaches here at Iowa?

WOODBURY: They told me to take a little time off, but I think I am just going to keep going and keep working on getting stronger and getting better as a basketball player.

Q: Anything new on the recruiting front?

WOODBURY: I think I might go to Iowa State for a visit this month. I have to set that up with them, but they told me to come down.

Q: Any other schools jumping in at this point?

WOODBURY: Basically just the ones that I had before. My high school coach says that Wisconsin is interested and UNI, Iowa State, and Iowa.

Q: Do you have plans to get back to Iowa City this fall for an unofficial visit?

WOODBURY: I think I will be down for a football game and maybe a couple of basketball games this winter.
