Grant adds new offer

Groton (Mass.) Lawrence Academy athlete Marcus Grant held two offers from Connecticut and Iowa, but recently received one more. That offer was from the Syracuse Orange.

"I was excited to hear about the Syracuse offer, it was my third one following Connecticut and Iowa. I thought it was good to get Syracuse under my belt because I have been hearing a lot of stuff, it is good that the offer is officially out there."

Grant, 6-foot-3, 190 pounds found about his offer through his coach who gave him the news.

"They called my coach. Coach Adkins called my coach and he told my coach that they were going to send out the offer letter."

Right now with three offers in hand do any of the schools stick out?

"Well right now all three schools are on an equal playing field, I do not have any favorites right now. I am going to look more at Syracuse now since the offer is on the table, I am going to get more familiar with their coaching staff and see the campus again this summer and see where it fits for me."

One of the schools that did offer has some already established connections that could factor into his decision.

"I would not say that it gives them an advantage, but I know what I am going to get from Syracuse because I have friends there. I know that I am going to get the truth from them, I just know with them being there I will be all set and I won't have to be worried about making friends, little things like that."

Other than the three schools who have offered Grant thinks a couple other offers could be on the way.

"My coach told me that Maryland and Rutgers are on the verge of offering."

The prospect plans to take some visits soon and one of those trips will be to see the Connecticut Huskies. This summer he also plans to take a trip to Iowa as well as Syracuse where he will attend their camp for the second straight year.
