Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney linebacker Courtney Love had been on the recruiting radar of Ohio State for several months now. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound class of 2013 prospect received some big news on Sunday after visiting for Ohio State's big junior day.
"Yes I did get offered by Ohio State," confirmed Love. "I was at the junior day today. They told me that I was one of the top guys in my class."
Love said he had been anticipating an offer for some time now but was still pleased to get the official word from the coaching staff.
"It was great," he said. "I was kind of expecting it but I was real excited. It was nice to see how the new coaching staff was and everything and they said they were trying to get a better feel for me and everything."
Love was on campus with many of Ohio's top junior prospects and got to spend some time with some of the members of the defensive coaching staff.
"It was really nice," he said. "I got to meet a lot of the coaches and watch the basketball game. I talked to coach (Luke) Fickell and coach (Mike) Vrabel most of the time and a little bit with coach (Urban) Meyer. They just said that they liked my film."
The junior day visit also provided Love with his first opportunity to watch a college basketball game at Ohio State.
"It was a great game," he said. "They pulled it out at the end. It was my first time going to a basketball game (at Ohio State) so that was nice to see."
The Ohio State offer gives Love a total of four offers, all coming from Big Ten programs. Despite the excitement he felt from getting the Ohio State offer, he claims that all of the schools are on equal standing at this time.
"I've got offers from Nebraska, Michigan State, Indiana, and Ohio State today," he said. "That's about all of the schools (showing interest) right now. I'm pretty much open right now, I'm just looking into all of them."
