Coaches' Corner: John Mundt

Interviewing athletes is great, fans love it and Duck Sports Authority does plenty of it. Last week we spoke with one of the latest commitments to the class of 2013, Modesto, California tight end John Mundt who detailed the factors behind his decision.

Billy Hylla: I am the defensive coordinator, the linebackers coach and also the Athletic Director.

DSA: So you wear a lot of hats there in Modesto.

BH: We are a small campus. We’ve got 411 kids and Johnny is what we want every kid to be like.

DSA: Yes I have heard good things about John. What are your overall impressions of him on the field?

BH: The special thing about him as that sometimes your hardest worker isn’t always your best athlete. John is the exception to that. He is a phenomenal athlete plus he’s one of our toughest kids. He is our hardest worker and he is a leader. He is the complete package that you look for in a football player.
