Edmonds getting interest

With 26 catches for 746 yards and 10 touchdowns through six games, Cedar Rapids Prairie wide receiver Jarred Edmonds is definitely making a name for himself this season. Now, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Edmonds, who also won a state title in track last spring, is starting to receive more college interest including phone calls from both BCS programs in the state this week.

"It's definitely picking up," Edmonds said of his recruiting. "I think this season has helped me a lot and really helped me get noticed by some of the bigger schools. This week, I received a call from Coach Morgan at Iowa on Monday and then on Wednesday night, I received a call from Coach Messingham at Iowa State."

Edmonds has already been to games at both schools this season, attending Iowa State's season opener against Tulsa and seeing Iowa's games against UNI and Central Michigan.
