Recruits like Iowa's chances against LSU

The Iowa Hawkeyes are a 7.5-8 point underdog against LSU in the Outback Bowl, but nevertheless many of their recruits are pretty optimistic about their chances on Wednesday. We checked in with Iowa's commits and several undecided recruits as well to get their thoughts on the matchup and their predictions for the bowl game on New Year's Day.

Tyler Wiegers: "I say 27-21 Iowa wins."

Parker Hesse: "I think it will be an extremely tough and fundamentally sound football game. With Mettenberger out and our solid defensive play at the end of the season here, we should be able to get stops. Offensively, we have to play Iowa football and control the tempo. Iowa 24, LSU 17."

Jalen Embry: "It's going to be a great defensive game. Iowa will win or lose by 7-10 points."

Marcel Joly: "Iowa made it this far through hard work and dedication. I believe they will do their thing come January 1st vs. LSU. It will be a close game, but I believe they will come out on top."

Matt Nelson: "If Iowa plays their game and stays true to Iowa football, they will win. Other than that it will be a good game."
