2015 QB commits to Iowa
After narrowing his choices down to Iowa and Illinois recently, Class of 2015 quarterback Jack Beneventi made his college decision on Wednesday night. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound junior from Benet Academy in Lisle, IL, announced his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes via Twitter, posting the following message.
I have committed to the University of Iowa!! I want to thank everyone for their support. GO HAWKS #Hawkeyes #Iowa pic.twitter.com/RvgOBh2Rqq- Jack Beneventi (@JackBeneventi13) December 6, 2013
One of only two Class of 2015 quarterbacks invited to the Rivals Five-Star Challenge at Soldier Field this past summer, Beneventi drew early scholarship offers from Iowa, Illinois, Notre Dame, and Louisville, among others. As a junior this year, he completed 134 of 246 pass attempts for 1,482 yards and seven touchdowns in leading Benet Academy to a 6-4 record.
Beneventi is the second commitment for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Class of 2015, joining in-state offensive lineman Jacob Newborg.
