Class of 2020 North Scott forward Ty Anderson was on campus for a visit in September where he saw the Iowa basketball program in action.

“I liked their intentions of pushing the ball and being smart.”

Anderson was able to see both the basketball workout and the North Texas football game afterwards.

“We watched the team camp and went to the lunch. Then we went over to the game.”

One portion of the trip stood out the most according to Anderson.

“It was probably the team practice. We just to see how things went and what they want to do.”

Anderson was able to catch the attention of Iowa on the AAU circuit during the summer.

“They have been coming to see me play for the Barnstormers.”

The program overall is one that Anderson enjoys.

“I really like Iowa.”

Anderson mentioned that the Hawkeyes are the lone school after him so far after having played in just three varsity games last winter.

“It is just Iowa.”

An out of state program is the one that Anderson followed when he was younger due to a family connection.

“My dad went to Virginia Tech so I kind of like them.”

Anderson was happy with how his Barnstormers did on the AAU circuit this off-season.

“It went pretty well. We started off pretty good and finished in some good positions at tournaments”

His sophomore year of prep hoops is one that Anderson is excited for.

“I think we are going to do pretty well. We can really make a run.”
