Angerer Talks NIKE Camp, Recruiting, and More

One of the top in-state players at the NIKE Camp on Sunday was Bettendorf linebacker Pat Angerer. The 6-foot, 200-pound Angerer carries a scholarship offer from Iowa State and continues to hear from several schools in the Big Ten and Big 12 conferences.

HawkeyeReport.com caught up with Angerer this week for his thoughts on the NIKE Camp, an update on his recruiting, and much more.

Q: How did you do Sunday?

Angerer: I think I did pretty well. My weight wasn't close to what it's going to be during football, but I think I proved myself in drills.

Q: How did you run in the forty?

Angerer: 4.63.

Q: How was the bench and vertical?

Angerer: 23 reps and 29 inch vertical.

Q: Anything new as far as recruiting? Who have you heard from recently as far as calls and visits to your school?

Angerer: Nothing really new. I've talked to Penn State, Indiana, and Iowa State coaches on the phone. Nebraska, Penn State, Iowa State, Iowa, and Northern Illinois have been to school.

Q: What has Iowa said recently regarding their recruiting?

Angerer: They haven't really said much. I'm wondering if they are still interested or not, and I know they have offered some linebackers already. Coach Morgan tells me that they go slow in the recruiting process and to have patience.

Q: What's next for you? Track and soccer still going?

Angerer: I'm headed up to state for the 4x200 and our soccer team is going into playoffs ranked second. When that's done, I plan on putting some pounds on during summer workouts.

Q: What are your plans for the summer and camps?

Angerer: Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, and Penn State.
