Banwart headed to Iowa

Two days after picking up a scholarship offer from Iowa, Algona offensive lineman Cole Banwart has made his college decision. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Banwart made the call to Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz today and gave his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes.
"Yes, I committed," said Banwart. "It's my dream to play there."

Banwart is the third commitment for the Hawkeyes in the last two days after the coaching staff extended several new offers at their one-day camp on Sunday. First, Cedar Falls offensive lineman Spencer Williams committed to the Class of 2016 on Monday followed by Class of 2017 defensive end Coy Kirkpatrick from Madrid. Now, Banwart joins the group in the 2016 recruiting class, which is up to six commits overall.
HawkeyeReport.com will have more on Banwart and his decision later today.
