Like his father, wide receiver Brandon Bishop is going to play football at the University of Iowa. In the mid 80's, Willie Bishop was a defensive back for the Hawkeyes under Coach Hayden Fry, so when his son received an opportunity to join the program as a walk-on this year, the high school senior says it was an easy decision.

"I went on my official visit to Iowa the weekend before signing day and ended up decommitting from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and picking Iowa instead," said Bishop. "Since my dad played there, it's a school that I've always wanted to go to, so when I got the opportunity I took it."

The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Bishop is from Kaneland High School in Maple Mark, Illinois, where he caught 37 passes for 558 yards and six touchdowns his senior year. He has attended Iowa's camp the last three summers and always received positive feedback from the coaching staff, which gave him motivation to pursue college football at the highest level.

"I took official visits to Minnesota-Duluth and Drake University, and I was talking to Quincy pretty heavily, but once the opportunity came with Iowa, I just went with that," Bishop said. "I knew that's where I belonged."
