New Jersey wide receiver Frank Darby has been verbally committed to Iowa since June, but will not be among the recruits signing with the Hawkeyes today. That is because the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Darby still has some work to do in order to qualify academically.

According to Jersey City Lincoln head coach Robert Hampton, Darby was scheduled to retake the SAT on January 23, but a snowstorm forced postponements across most of the state. Now, the wide receiver will take the test on February 20 instead with his results determining the next step in the recruiting process.

As a senior, Darby earned first team all-state honors after finishing the season with 34 catches for 1,015 yards and 11 touchdowns for Lincoln. Along with Iowa, he drew scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Syracuse, UMass, Liberty, and Towson during the recruiting process.
