Coming off his official visit with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Omaha tight end Noah Fant went on a local radio show, Sharp & Benning in the Morning, to talk about his recruiting, among other topics. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Fant, who is a soft commit to Iowa, said he enjoyed his time in Iowa City over the weekend.

"It went really good," Fant told host Gary Sharp. "It was good to see the coaches again and meet the other recruits. It was a good time. I got to sit down with the coaches and meet and all that, so it was good."

Still, Fant plans to proceed with his previously scheduled official visit to Minnesota this weekend, just a few days before National Signing Day. It was something the three-star prospect discussed with the Hawkeye coaching staff during his stay in Iowa City.

"They're kind of upset that I would go on a visit being that I was committed," Fant said. "It was kind of talked about that if you go on a visit, then that opens recruiting for us and we'll go look at another tight end."

"I was like, well you know, I understand that. I understand that you guys have to do your part and everything, but I have to go here and make sure," he continued. "I have to go to be sure that when I step in Iowa City and on Iowa's campus that I'm 100% sure and I don't have any doubts of what could have been if I went there."

Fant also said that he is still considering Nebraska and staying in contact with Mike Riley, Mike Cavanaugh and the Husker coaching staff, but will not make it to Lincoln for an official visit before signing day.

Right now, all plans are still to have a final decision by February 3rd with Iowa being the current favorite.

"As of right now, I will be signing that letter of intent to the University of Iowa," Fant said.

Fant also discussed, at length, his current suspension from the No. 1 ranked Omaha South basketball team, which is due to the practices and games that he is missing during his college visits this month.
