Ferentz named to Rimington Watch List

IOWA CITY, Iowa - University of Iowa junior center James Ferentz has been named to the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List. The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the Most Outstanding Center in NCAA Division I college football.
Ferentz (6-2, 284) started all 13 games for the Hawkeyes in 2010, earning the offensive Coaches Appreciation Award. Ferentz is a member of Iowa's 2011 Leadership Council as well.

He played every offensive play in 10 of 12 games during the 2010 season, helping Iowa close the season with a dominating rushing performance in the 27-24 Insight Bowl win over 12th-ranked Missouri.
The former Iowa City HS prep is one of 42 candidates on the Rimington list. The list includes six players from both the Big Ten and Southeastern conferences.
The Rimington Trophy winner will be honored at the Rimington Trophy Presentation banquet in Lincoln, Neb., on Jan. 14, 2012. The award is named after former Nebraska center Dave Rimington.
