In our following the future update, we take a look each week during the season at how Iowa's commits are doing on the field, including our performance of the week. Join us throughout the year as we watch their progress and get ready for the future of Hawkeye football.

Performances of the week

We have a tie for performance of the week with Samson Evans and Henry Geil both scoring an eye popping 5 touchdowns on the ground Friday.

First, with Iowa offensive line commit Jeff Jenkins leading the way, Samson Evans had a huge game with 11 carries for 222 yards and 5 touchdowns all in the first half as Prairie Ridge beat Crystal Lake South 56-14 on Friday. Evans also had a 17 yard touchdown pass in the game. This season, Evans has 703 yards rushing for Prairie Ridge (4-0).

Then, running back Henry Geil was back at it on Friday night, scoring 5 touchdowns in Green Bay Preble's 49-7 win over Sheboygan South. Geil finished with 20 carries for 143 yards in the game. On the season, Geil now has 128 carries for 795 yards and 10 touchdowns for Preble (4-1).

Other performances

Defensive tackle Noah Shannon had a big game with 9 tackles and 3 sacks as Oswego shut out Plainfield East 35-0 on Friday. This season, Shannon has 24 tackles, 5 TFL, 3 sacks, and 1 pass deflection for Oswego (3-1).

Offensive lineman Cody Ince helped Unity rack up 306 rushing yards on their way to a big 50-6 win over Cameron on Friday. On defense, Ince had 7 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 sack and a forced fumble that he also recovered. This season, Ince is up to 37 tackles and 9 TFL for Unity (4-1).

Cornerback D.J. Johnson had 1 interception and 1 fumble recovery on Friday, but saw his North Central team lose to Center Grove 24-7. On the season, Johnson has 12 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 3 pass deflections on for North Central (3-2).

Tight end Anthony Torres is still out with an injury. His Mishawaka Penn team improved to 4-1 on the season after a 34-0 win over South Bend Adams Friday.

Cornerback Terry Roberts had an interception on defense and 3 catches for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns on offense in Cathedral Prep's 62-28 win over Benedictine Friday. On the season, Roberts has 8 catches for 239 yards and 3 touchdown to go along with 2 tackles and 2 interceptions on defense for Cathedral Prep (4-0).

Playing with an ankle injury, tight end Jack Plumb helped set the edge for Bay Port as they went run heavy in their 48-27 win over Pulaski on Friday. This season, Plumb has 2 catches for 15 yards and 2 touchdowns for Bay Port (5-0).

Defensive tackle Tyler Linderbaum's defense pitched another shutout as Solon beat Washington 40-0 on Friday. On the season, Linderbaum has 17 tackles, 3 TFL, and 2 sacks for Solon (4-0) who has only allowed 7 points in 4 weeks.

Defensive back Julius Brents made his season debut on Friday after missing the previous 4 weeks with a knee injury. No stats available yet, but his Warren Central team dropped to 2-3 on the season after a 45-13 loss to Ben Davis Friday.

Dillon Doyle finished with 2 catches for 18 yards and 1 touchdown as Iowa City West stomped rival City High 52-6 on Friday. This season, Doyle has 20 tackles and 2 TFL for West (4-0).

Tyrone Tracy Jr. finished with 8 carries for 109 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground to go along with 2 catches for 23 yards and 1 touchdown receiving in Decatur Central's 63-7 win over Mooresville on Friday. This season, Tracy has 61 carries for 620 rushing yards and 23 catches for 442 receiving yards with 10 touchdowns for Decatur Central (4-1).

In the same game, Class of 2019 defensive back Larry Tracy finished with 6 tackles and 3 pass breakups for the Decatur Central defense in the victory. This season, Tracy has 38 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and 1 interception for Decatur Central (4-1).

Class of 2019 offensive line commit Ezra Miller led the way as Ridge View piled up 260 rushing yards in their 26-22 win over Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn on Friday. Defensively, Miller had 11 tackles and 1.5 TFL in the game for Ridge View (3-1).

Class of 2019 offensive line commit Tyler Endres helped Norwalk put up 438 yards of offense in their 42-14 win over North Polk on Friday. Norwalk is now 3-1 this year.

Class of 2019 tight end commit Logan Lee finished with 2 catches for 35 yards on offense and 7 tackles, 4 TFL, and 2 sacks on defense as Orion beat Riverdale 42-0 on Friday. This year, Lee has 14 catches for 213 yards and 4 touchdowns for Orion (3-1).

Finally, Iowa Western defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon, who plans to enroll at Iowa at semester, had a big day on Saturday with 10 tackles and 2.5 TFL, but saw the Reivers lose a close one to Butler 21-19. In 4 games this season, Nixon has 18 tackles, 5 TFL, and 1 sack for Iowa Western (3-1).
