In our following the future update, we take a look each week during the season at how Iowa's commits are doing on the field, including our performance of the week. Join us throughout the year as we watch their progress and get ready for the future of Hawkeye football.

Performance of the week

With offensive line commit Jeff Jenkins leading the way upfront, Samson Evans had more than 200 all-purpose yards, including 106 on the ground, and threw for a pair of touchdowns in Prairie Ridge's 42-14 win over McHenry on Friday.

This year, Evans has 889 yards rushing for defending state champion Prairie Ridge, who remains undefeated at 6-0.

Other performances

Running back Henry Geil was held to 60 yards on 16 carries as Green Bay Preble lost to Notre Dame 24-10 on Friday. Through 7 games this season, Geil has 166 carries for 1,128 yards and 14 touchdowns for Preble (5-2).

Offensive lineman Cody Ince helped Unity pick up 285 yards rushing on their way to a 44-7 win over Flambeau on Friday. On defense, Ince added 9 tackles and a forced fumble in the game. This season, he has 53 tackles and 11 TFL for Unity (6-1).

Tyrone Tracy Jr. did not have a huge game stats wise on Friday with just 4 catches for 73 yards, but one of those was the game winner as he hauled in a touchdown catch in the final seconds to give Decatur Central a 13-12 victory over Greenwood. This season, Tracy has 82 carries for 717 rushing yards and 33 catches for 630 receiving yards with 15 touchdowns for Decatur Central (6-1).

Cornerback D.J. Johnson had 4 tackles and 1 pass breakup on Friday, but saw his North Central team lose a close one to Lawrence Central 21-15. This season, Johnson has 20 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 4 pass breakups for North Central (3-4).

Linebacker Dillon Doyle had 2 tackles as Iowa City West shutout Burlington 49-0 on Friday. This season, Doyle has 29 tackles and 3 TFL on defense and 10 catches for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns on offense for West (6-0).

Defensive tackle Tyler Linderbaum had 3 tackles in Solon's big 62-0 win over Fort Madison on Friday. On the season, Linderbaum has 22 tackles, 4 TFL, and 2 sacks for Solon (6-0) who has only allowed 14 total points through 6 games.

Cornerback Terry Roberts had 1 tackle on defense, 1 catch for 34 yards on offense, and a punt return for 50 yards in Cathedral Prep's 48-0 win over St. Francis Friday. On the season, Roberts has 12 catches for 425 yards and 5 touchdown on offense to go along with 5 tackles and 2 interceptions on defense for Cathedral Prep (6-0).

Safety Julius Brents had 1 tackle in Warren Central's big 53-3 victory over Lawrence North on Friday. In 3 games since returning from a knee injury, Brents has 3 tackles and 1 interception this season for Warren Central (4-3).

Blocking tight end Jack Plumb, who will play offensive line in college, helped Bay Port stay undefeated with a 21-14 win over Green Bay Southwest on Friday. This year, Plumb has 2 catches for 15 yards and 2 touchdowns for Bay Port (7-0).

Tight end Anthony Torres is still out with an injury. His Mishawaka Penn team improved to 6-1 on the season with a 58-0 win over South Bend Clay on Friday.

Defensive tackle Noah Shannon had 5 tackles, 4 TFL, and 2 sacks as Oswego shutout rival Oswego East 13-0 on Friday night. This season, Shannon has 31 tackles, 10 TFL, and 5.5 sacks for Oswego (5-1).

Class of 2019 tight end commit Logan Lee did not have any catches this week as Orion relied on their running game to beat Fulton 42-0 on Friday. On defense, Lee had 7 tackles, 1.5 TFL, and 1 sack in the game. This season, Lee has 16 catches for 278 yards and 6 touchdowns for Orion (5-1).

Class of 2019 offensive line commit Tyler Endres helped Norwalk put up nearly 350 yards of offense in their 49-0 victory over Grinnell on Friday. Norwalk is now 4-1 this season.

Class of 2019 offensive line commit Ezra Miller had 8 tackles on defense, but saw his offense struggle Friday with only 145 total yards in their 26-7 loss to Sioux Central. Defensively, Miller has 38 tackles and 7.5 TFL this season for Ridge View (4-2).

Class of 2019 defensive back Larry Tracy led Decatur Central with 8 tackles and a forced fumble that he recovered in their 13-12 win over Greenwood Friday. This year, Tracy has 53 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions for Decatur Central (6-1).

Junior college defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon, who plans to enroll at Iowa at semester, had a bye week at Iowa Western this week. In 5 games this season, Nixon has 19 tackles, 6 TFL, and 1.5 sacks for Iowa Western (4-1).
