Throwing for 2,340 yards and 31 touchdowns has allowed Fort Dodge quarterback Drake Miller to remain on the radar of the Iowa coaches and opened the door for him to visit for their Ohio State victory.

“I thought it was great, "said Miller. "Their facilities are great. Kinnick was electric and that was cool to see. Storming the field was fun.”

Miller was able to get a closer look at all that the school has to offer.

“They fed us and we toured the indoor facilities, "Miller said. "We saw the weight room and indoor practice facility. After that, we went on the field and watched warmups for a big.”

One portion of the tour stood out the most according to Miller.

“I’d probably have to say seeing the whole indoor facilities, especially the indoor practice field, "he said. "There are not a lot of DI programs that have a 100-yard indoor practice facility.”

Miller likes what he has seen so far with the Hawkeyes.

“After watching the game, they look pretty nice, "said Miller. "The coaches did a great job preparing and it showed. They really took it to Ohio State.”

Visits to Iowa City have been something that Miller has been able to do over the last two seasons.

“I was invited to a game last year and I was able to choose another game this year.”

Miller mentioned the two other schools in the Midwest that he has been able to see so far.

“I have gone on visits to Iowa State and Northwest Missouri State.”

His status as a recruit did not come up between Miller and the coaches.

“No, I didn’t get to talk to them very much.”

Miller felt that his junior year of high school football could have been much different.

“We ended up 4-5, "Miller said. "It wasn’t what we wanted but we lost a few close games. If we had pulled those out, we could have been 6-3 instead of 4-5.”
