Hawkeyes offer 2019 DE

The Iowa Hawkeyes are the latest to offer Class of 2019 defensive end Marcus Hicks. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Wichita native received the offer from the Iowa coaching staff during an unofficial visit to campus in Iowa City today.

“Coach Bell took me to Coach Ferentz’s office and we talked for about 30 or 45 minutes and he just came out and said that he was offering me a scholarship,” said Hicks.

In addition to talking with the coaching staff, Hicks also had a chance to meet some of the current players at Iowa and was impressed with what he saw.

“What probably stood out the most was how humble the players and coaches were,” Hicks said. “They were all really great people.”

Overall, the Hawkeyes join Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Toledo on Hicks' early list of offers.

“It feels great,” said Hicks. “It's definitely something that probably nobody saw coming. I had to work extremely hard for those offers.”
