The Iowa Hawkeyes are still looking for another safety in the Class of 2017. This week, their search took them to New Castle, Pennsylvania, where defensive coordinator Phil Parker visited yesterday to talk with two-star prospect Geno Stone.

This morning, Parker followed up with a scholarship offer for the 6-foot-0, 188-pound Stone, who is currently committed to Kent State.

“It's a great opportunity just because it's a Big Ten school and the competition the play,” said Stone. “They have been telling me they love the way I play and see I'm a good player.”

Previously, Stone was scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan State this weekend, but the Spartans have not yet offered. Now, he will likely be switching that to Iowa unless he just sticks with his original commitment.

“I’m either just going to visit Iowa or stay with Kent,” Stone said Tuesday morning.
