As the son of former Hawkeye John Marchese, Illinois wide receiver Henry Marchese has grown up on Iowa football. Today, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect officially received an opportunity to follow in his father’s footsteps, if he wants, as the Iowa coaching staff offered him a scholarship.

“They offered over the phone today,” said Marchese. “It was awesome. I was so excited.”

While Marchese did not make any quick decisions, he said he will be discussing the opportunity with his parents later tonight and scheduling an official visit in the near future.

In addition to Iowa, Marchese holds scholarship offers from Army, Central Michigan, and Bowling Green, and has received interest from Illinois, Penn State, Indiana, and Minnesota this month.

As a senior, Marchese had 63 catches for 1,053 yards and 16 touchdowns for Stevenson High School.
