Hawkeyes offer Nate Wieland
The Iowa Hawkeyes have been staying in close contact with Nate Wieland throughout the recruiting process. Today, the coaching staff finally made their move and offered a scholarship to the 6-foot-3, 220-pound hometown prospect from City High.
Currently a Northern Illinois commit, Wieland will make an official visit with the Hawkeyes this weekend, January 27-29, just before National Signing Day.
A quarterback in high school, Wieland completed 110 of 196 pass attempts for 1,671 yards and 9 touchdowns for City High this past season. On the ground, he finished with 129 carries for 741 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Hawkeyes project the two-star prospect at linebacker in college.
