The Iowa Hawkeyes have extended a new scholarship offer in the Class of 2017 to tight end Kurt Rafdal. The offer from the Iowa coaching staff actually came on Christmas Day, according to the 6-foot-7, 230-pound Rafdal, who helped lead Carmel High School to a state championship in Indiana's Class 6A this past season.

Since then, Rafdal has decommitted from Indiana and is now looking at new options, mainly Iowa and Nebraska, who was one of his finalists the first time around. The three-star prospect will be making an official visit with the Huskers on January 13 and hopes to schedule a trip to Iowa sometime after that.

Rafdal also told us that LSU has been in contact recently. The Tigers have not yet offered, but their new offense coordinator, Matt Canada, was recruiting him previously when he was at Pittsburgh.

A first team all-state selection, Rafdal finished with 44 catches for 492 yards and one touchdown in 2016.
