The Hawkeyes offered Kansas wide receiver Harry Van Dyne tonight.

Kansas wide receiver Harry Van Dyne visited Iowa City when the Hawkeyes played Michigan in November and has stayed on the radar ever since. Tonight, the 6-foot-5, 185-pound Van Dyne received an in-home visit from Iowa coaches Brian Ferentz and LeVar Woods and officially picked up an offer from the Hawkeyes.

"It went awesome," said Van Dyne. "Coach Ferentz is a great dude and, of course, Coach Woods is as well. I'm most likely taking a visit there on the 20th."

Prior to that, Van Dyne will visit Minnesota, who recently offered as well, on January 13.

For Iowa, Brian Ferentz, who was promoted to offensive coordinator this past week, went over the role he sees Van Dyne playing in his offense if he decides to join the Hawkeyes.

"He said it will mostly stay the same, but he would like to move some guys around a little bit," Van Dyne said. "They need a competitor that's willing to do the dirty work and make big plays."

As a senior, Van Dyne put up big numbers at Blue Valley High School in Stilwell, KS, finishing the season with 67 catches for 1,096 yards and 12 touchdowns.
