Maishe Dailey made an official visit to Iowa this past weekend. It didn’t take too long for the 6-foot-6 guard from Ohio to make his decision. On Wednesday afternoon at a spring signing day ceremony at Beachwood High School, Dailey announced that he would become part of Iowa’s 2016 basketball recruiting class.

This past season, Dailey averaged 14 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. He originally committed to Rutgers in late January, but once they fired head coach Eddie Jordan, Dailey decided to re-open his recruitment. Iowa assistant coach Sherman Dillard went to see Dailey workout at his high school two weeks ago and the Hawkeyes offered a scholarship a few days later.

Dailey joins Iowa’s 2016 recruiting class that includes four star forward Tyler Cook, and a trio of in-state standouts in forwards Ryan Kriener and Cordell Pemsl, along with combo guard Jordan Bohannon.

HawkeyeReport.com will have more on Dailey’s commitment later today.
