After his latest visit to Iowa, Class of 2019 defensive back Larry Tracy decided that he has seen enough. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Indianapolis native announced today on his 17th birthday that he is ending the recruiting process early and verbally committing to the Hawkeyes.

"There's no point of waiting when you have already found a home," Tracy told HawkeyeReport.com on Monday.

“The community is what really sold me on Iowa,” said Tracy. “It’s a great city full of great people and really gave me an at-home feeling.”

Tracy chose the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Indiana, Syracuse, Northern Illinois, and Bowling Green.

At Iowa, the 2019 prospect will join his cousin Tyrone Tracy Jr., a high school teammate at Decatur Central who is a wide receiver in the Class of 2018. In college, the two look forward to pushing each other and helping one another make the transition.

"It will be like it is now, always pushing each other to be better and a lot more one on one battles," Tracy said. "Plus, family means everything to us. It's what keeps us together and keeps us on the right path. I couldn't ask for a better family."

Overall, Larry Tracy is commitment No. 4 for the Iowa coaching staff in the Class of 2019 as he joins Ezra Miller, Logan Lee, and Tyler Endres.
