Iowa No Longer Recruiting Brown

Iowa coach Darrell Wilson, who recruits the state of New Jersey for the Hawkeyes, made an in-home visit to running back Donald Brown of Red Bank Catholic this evening.

HawkeyeReport.com caught up with the 5-foot-11, 190-pound Brown, who told us about the visit, which did not exactly go as he had hoped.

“Coach Wilson came and they actually pulled their offer tonight, so I’m not going out there this weekend,” said Brown.

Brown had previously scheduled an official visit to Iowa City for this weekend, but as mentioned will now not be making the trip. Brown said he was obviously disappointed to hear the news, but told us he understood that was part of the nature of recruiting.

“I knew they were only looking to take two running backs and I guess they’re close to getting their second commitment,” Brown said.

With the Iowa offer off the table, Brown's focus will now turn to Wisconsin and UCONN, each of which he has previously visited.
