When Illinois defensive tackle Kendrick Green visited Iowa City for a game last month, it seemed like the Hawkeyes were getting close to a scholarship offer. On Friday, it finally happened as the 6-foot-3, 270-pound Green received a call from lead recruiter Brian Ferentz with the news.

"Coach Ferentz, the OL coach, was the one that called me," said Green. "I always have liked Iowa growing up, so it was pretty cool to me."

In September, Green was in attendance for Iowa's night game against Iowa State and saw the Hawkeyes steadily pick up more and more interest in him as a defensive tackle. Previously, he had narrowed his options down to mostly Minnesota, Central Florida, and Syracuse, but now will be adding Iowa to the final group as well.

"I'm highly interested in Iowa," Green said. "I've been waiting on them for a long time."

"I'm definitely going to visit there again before I decide," he continued.

A three-star prospect that could play on either side of the ball in college, Green currently holds scholarship offers from Iowa, Minnesota, Syracuse, Central Florida, Wyoming, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois, Toledo, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Ball State, Illinois State, Appalachian State, Tennessee State, Southern Illinois, Western Illinois, South Dakota, and South Dakota State.
