New 2017 Offer: WR Brandon Smith
The Iowa Hawkeyes are the latest team to offer Class of 2017 receiver Brandon Smith from Mississippi. The 6-foot-3, 198-pound Smith picked up the new offer after Iowa assistant coach Kelvin Bell stopped by his high school, Lake Cormorant, this week.
"I'm very excited about my offer from Iowa," said Smith. "It feels great."
The offer from Iowa is No. 8 overall for Smith as the Hawkeyes join Toledo, ULM, Southern Miss, Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Middle Tennessee State, and UTSA on his list. With his first Power 5 opportunity on the table, the three-star prospect looks forward to learning more about the Hawkeyes soon.
"I don't know anything yet, but I'm planning on visiting the campus very soon and getting to know Coach Bell," Smith said.
This past season, Smith caught 78 passes for 1,382 yards and 16 touchdowns.
