The Iowa Hawkeyes are the latest team to offer Class of 2018 quarterback Devin Leary. A three-star prospect, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound New Jersey native was surprised by the news, which came from Iowa offensive coordinator Greg Davis and lead recruiter Chris White this evening.

"This offer caught me by surprise for sure," said Leary. "Coach Chris White and Coach Davis contacted my coach after watching my early season highlights. Later, they contacted me saying that they were extremely interested in offering me and decided to pull the trigger today."

"I was extremely excited and thrilled to announce the offer," Leary said.

Overall, it is offer No. 8 for Leary as Iowa joins Boston College, Maryland, Rutgers, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Temple, and Massachusetts on his list.

"It's incredible," said Leary. "For colleges to recognize my talents this early and giving me an opportunity to play for their university on scholarship is just an amazing feeling that I am grateful for."

As a junior at Timber Creek High School in Sicklerville, NJ, Leary has completed 44 of 77 pass attempts for 937 yards and 15 touchdowns with only 1 interception this season.
