The Iowa Hawkeyes are the latest team to offer Class of 2018 dual-threat quarterback Quincy Patterson. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Patterson received the news on Saturday from Iowa offensive line coach Brian Ferentz, who recruits the Chicago area for the Hawkeyes.

"Coach Ferentz, the offensive line coach, had me call him and then from there he told me," said Patterson. "My initial reaction was just a huge smile and then I thought about how great of a program they are and how they could make me a better player."

Overall, Iowa is offer No. 8 for Patterson as the Hawkeyes join Illinois, Penn State, Northwestern, Indiana, Mississippi State, New Mexico, and Syracuse.

It's a great feeling," Patterson said. "I always think about the hard work that led to these opportunities and how much I've dreamed about being where I am."

Patterson, who visited Iowa City this past summer, plans to be back on campus this weekend to watch the Hawkeyes host Wisconsin at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday.
