The Iowa Hawkeyes have extended their first in-state offer in the Class of 2019. It went to Council Bluffs Lewis Central quarterback Max Duggan, who had Iowa assistant coach Reese Morgan stop by his school on Friday and then talked to head coach Kirk Ferentz later in the day.

"I talked to Coach Ferentz on Friday afternoon and he told me that he would like me to be a Hawkeye," said Duggan. "I was very excited and honored about the news. Iowa has a great program and I love the coaching staff."

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Duggan attended Iowa's camp this past summer and returned to campus on September 10 for a game day visit with the Hawkeyes. Currently, he is also receiving interest from Iowa State, Wyoming, and South Dakota, but Iowa is the first to offer.

"It's a great feeling," Duggan said. "I feel very appreciative of it. Iowa has a great program so I feel grateful."

As a sophomore, Duggan completed 108 of 174 passes (62.1%) for 1,651 yards with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. On the ground, the dual-threat quarterback finished with 114 carries for 592 yards and 14 touchdowns.
