Running back Kyshaun Bryan arrives in Iowa City on June 10th.

Florida running back Kyshaun Bryan made a late switch to Iowa the week before signing day, but it is a move he is very comfortable with as he looks forward to making the move this summer. We caught up with the 5-foot-10, 205-pound Bryan, who will wear #16 for the Hawkeyes, to talk about his upcoming freshman year and much more.

Q: When do you make the move to Iowa City this summer?

BRYAN: I get up there on June 10.

Q: What are you looking forward to in starting workouts with the team?

BRYAN: I'm looking forward to building a bond with the team and enjoy the process of getting better.

Q: What are your goals for your freshman year? Are you hoping to play or expecting to redshirt?

BRYAN: I am going in there to compete to play full speed.

Q: What was it like visiting spring practice last month now that you are so close to being there and what did you see from the new look offense?

BRYAN: The new offense looks good. Coach Brian Ferentz is opening it up.

Q: Can you talk little bit about how Akrum Wadley became a mentor for you and what's been his biggest advice?

BRYAN: Ihmir (Smith-Marsette) knows him and I was with Ihmir the majority of the time I was up there for the spring game. He just told me pretty much to come in and compete and to be coach-able right when I get up there.

Q: What will it mean to you to walk out of the tunnel at Kinnick Stadium for the first time?

BRYAN: It's a moment I can't wait for and it will be a moment to remember forever.

Q: When you look back at everything, what was it about Iowa that made it the right place for you?

BRYAN: The people, the coaches, and the players. It’s one big family.

Originally a South Carolina commit, Bryan switched his commitment to Iowa on January 30, and also considered Pittsburgh and Oregon State, among others.

As a senior, Bryan finished with 98 carries for 706 yards and four touchdowns this past season at St. Thomas Aquinas.
