Riggs walking on at Iowa

West Des Moines Dowling linebacker Mitchell Riggs has made his college decision. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Riggs accepted a walk-on opportunity with the Hawkeyes this weekend during a visit to campus in Iowa City.

"Playing at Iowa has always been a dream of mine," said Riggs. "Visiting campus this weekend and being around the coaches just solidified my decision. It feels great to be committed to the Hawkeyes."

As a senior, Riggs led the Dowling defense with 146 tackles and 16 TFL as they won their fifth consecutive state championship in Class 4A.
