Ryan Majerus Receives Iowa Offer

"The University of Iowa has offered me a football scholarship as of this past weekend." Ryan Majerus told us this evening. "I am very excited about that, but this is a very important decision that will affect the rest of my life, so I need to make certain that I weigh all of my options."
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound athlete from Oelwein Iowa said that he will be visiting Northwestern the weekend of October 13th, Iowa State the weekend of October 20th and another visit to Iowa City on October 27 for the Iowa-Michigan contest.

Earlier, Majerus said that he had two favorites: Northwestern, who had offered him a scholarship at the time, and Iowa, but said that he was 'not closing any doors' with regards to his recruitment. "I have always been a Hawkeye fan growing up." Majerus said in early September. "My parents both attended graduate school in Iowa City and I really like the thought of playing at Iowa as I don't want to live too far away from home."
Majerus had a very busy summer, visiting several institutions across the Midwest. "From west to east, I visited Air Force, Nebraska, Iowa State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Illinois and Notre Dame." Majerus said.
Iowa already has received a verbal commitment from Oelwein teammate Chris Felder, a player that Rivals100 rates as the 16th best offensive lineman in the Nation.
