As an Iowa commit from the Sunshine State, cornerback Josh Turner is excited to see the Hawkeyes headed to the Outback Bowl to face the Florida Gators in Tampa on January 2. We caught up with the 6-foot-0, 180-pound Turner to discuss the matchup and get his prediction.

“It's pretty cool to have them coming to my home state,” said Turner, who plans to attend the game.

“It’s a pretty good matchup for us, especially on defense with the struggles they've had on offense,” he continued. “I think we can stop them, but they have a very good defense. Still, with the plays we've been making I can see us putting points on the board and at that point we'll just have to hold their offense to little or no points.”

“I think Iowa wins in a low scoring game,” Turner said.

Turner, who had an in-home visit from lead recruiter Seth Wallace last week, will be having Iowa defensive coordinator Phi Parker stop by on Monday.

As a senior this season, Turner finished with 42 tackles and 16 pass breakups for American Heritage High School in Delray Beach, Florida.
