Uhl picks the Hawkeyes

After narrowing his choices down to three schools this past week, Class of 2014 forward Dominique Uhl announced his decision on Friday morning. The 6-foot-8, 185-pound Uhl verbally committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from Temple and Boston College, among others.
"I'm going to attend the University of Iowa," Uhl told Adam Zagoria on SNY.tv a few moments ago (LINK).

Uhl, who is originally from Germany, attends Point Pleasant Beach High School in New Jersey and plays AAU with the Jersey Shore Warriors. As a junior in high school, he averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds per game, and has the ability to play inside or out, which he discussed with Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery on his visit last month.
"Coach McCaffery knows my strength is to attack the basket against taller defenders and then post up smaller guys guarding me," Uhl said. "He told me that no matter where I play on the court, he will make sure they showcase my whole game."
Uhl is the second commitments for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Class of 2014, joining Wisconsin shooting guard Brady Ellingson.
HawkeyeReport.com will have more on Uhl and his decision later today.
