Wilson commits to Iowa

West Des Moines Dowling linebacker Nick Wilson has stayed in close contact with the Iowa coaching staff and remained patient throughout the recruiting process. On Sunday, that patience paid off for the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Wilson as the Hawkeyes finally offered a scholarship, which he quickly accepted.

Wilson, who is a high school teammate of Iowa quarterback commit Ryan Boyle, finished his senior season with 63 tackles and three interceptions, as Dowling went 13-1 and won their second consecutive state title in Class 4A.
Prior to this weekend, Wilson was verbally committed to Western Illinois. During the recruiting process, the two-star prospect also picked up scholarship offers from Northern Iowa and South Dakota.
Wilson is commitment No. 20 for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Class of 2015.
