Maxwell Worship added a new offer from Iowa tonight.

Florida safety Maxwell Worship has been watching Iowa from afar for a couple years now and recently starting picking up more interest from the Hawkeyes. Tonight, the three-star prospect from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale was excited to see the Iowa coaching staff take the next step and extend a scholarship offer.

"When I got the message from the director of recruiting that coach Wallace was going to call me, I already was excited just by hearing that," said the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Worship. "Then later on when I was on the phone with Coach Wallace, he said they would like to offer me and by then I was just even more motivated to keep working. I was beyond happy when I got the offer."

Although Worship has yet to visit Iowa City, he has been keeping close tabs on the Hawkeyes in recent years, especially with Jim Thorpe Award winner Desmond King on the team.

"I know a lot about Iowa," Worship said. "I know they're a prestigious Big Ten school that have come up big time in big time games and they're up there as far as best teams in the country goes. I watched them a lot over the past two years mostly because of Desmond King, who is one my favorite DB's to watch and study."

Worship has also heard a lot about Iowa from his friend Kyshaun Bryan, a Class of 2017 running back from St. Thomas Aquinas who signed with the Hawkeyes this past month.

"Kyshaun Bryan and I have been friends since I was in fourth grade. We played little league football together," said Worship. "We've talked a lot about Iowa."

Iowa's next goal will be getting Worship on campus for a visit, which could end up happening this summer, possibly with his friend Rocky Shelton, a Class of 2018 linebacker from Aquinas that the Hawkeyes also offered this week.

"Rocky Shelton is my Godbrother, basically my cousin," Worship said. "Hopefully we'll be able to take a visit together."

In addition to Iowa, Worship currently holds scholarship offers from Rutgers, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky.
