WR Maclin talks Iowa camp

One of the top prospects at Iowa's one-day camp on Saturday was Missouri wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. The 6-foot, 160-pound Maclin came to the camp with an Iowa offer already in hand, but was looking to further prove himself to the coaches and to get better at the same time.

"Yeah, I was at Iowa and it was pretty good," said Maclin. "I did very well. I worked with Coach Erb, the receivers coach. He was helping me to use my hands more. Not catching the ball, but shedding jams."

Maclin, who caught 58 passes for 1,184 yards as a junior, arrived in Iowa City early on Saturday for a tour of the campus and facilities.

"They showed us around and explained everything on the tour," Maclin said. "They have some nice, nice facilities. Everything looked good to me."

Along with Iowa, Maclin also holds scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Missouri, Michigan State, Illinois, Ole Miss, Indiana, and Northwestern. While he currently does not plan to make a decision this summer, Maclin is hoping to narrow things down a little before the fall.

"I'm hoping to have it narrowed down to five or six by the start of football season," said Maclin.

Following the one-day camp visit to Iowa City, Maclin talked a little bit about where the Hawkeyes currently stand on his list.

"They're in the top five definitely," Maclin said. "They've got some good people up there and good coaches. They've got a good program."
