Council Bluffs kicker Caleb Shudak plans to walk on at Iowa this year.

Council Bluffs Lewis Central kicker Caleb Shudak has made his college decision. While his father, Jeff, was a kicker for the Iowa State Cyclones, the 5-foot-8, 175-pound Shudak is going to suit up for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Shudak, who was considering walk-on opportunities at both schools, made his choice this afternoon.

"I decided on Iowa because everything was just what I wanted," said Shudak. "The academics are just what I'm looking for and the opportunity is one that I couldn't pass up on."

"The opportunity to come in and compete for the job was exactly what I was looking for," he continued.

As a senior, Shudak made 5/8 field goals with a long of 43 yards. He also made 27/27 PAT's and had 30 of his 33 kickoffs go for touchbacks.

Here is the scouting report on Shudak from KohlsKicking.com.

Shudak is an explosive kicker who won the Southern Showcase KO competition and KO charting phase of camp in May of 2015. He can KO with anyone in the nation. His FG are solid and will continue to get better off the ground. His Dad is a former D1 kicker and Shudak should be able to play at the D1 level as a kicker. He has top 10 leg talent in the 2016 class and had a strong Scholarship Camp in July 2015.
