Class of 2017 center Luka Garza is going to be a Hawkeye. The 6-foot-10, 230-pound Washington D.C. native, who is back on campus in Iowa City this weekend, announced his commitment to head coach Fran McCaffery and the Iowa coaching staff this evening.

"First of all, I want to thank all the schools that have been involved with me throughout this entire process," said Garza in a statement. "It's a blessing to see hard work pay off but I know it is just the beginning."

"I want to thank God, Chuck Driesell, Keith Stevens and the Team Takeover family, my mom, sister, and the rest of my family for their continued support and effort to improve me as a player and as a person," he continued. "I also want to individually thank my dad for everything he's done for me, and I wish him a very happy birthday."

"With all that being said, I have decided that I will be attending the University of Iowa!"

Ranked at No. 134 in the current Rivals150, Garza drew scholarship offers from Indiana, Louisville, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Georgia, Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Penn State, Alabama, Northwestern, South Carolina, and many more during the recruiting process.

Garza is the second commitment for Iowa in the Class of 2017 joining Connor McCaffery.
