Bettendorf all-state linebacker Keegan Glaus has decided on a college. The 6-foot-0, 215-pound Glaus will be attending the University of Iowa and joining the Hawkeyes as a preferred walk-on this year.

“I chose Iowa because I felt they were the best fit for me,” said Glaus. “I feel like they see potential in me are not overlooking just me because of my size.”

Glaus received interest from several FCS schools including Western Illinois and Illinois State, but the opportunity to play for the Hawkeyes was too good to pass up.

“I always saw myself being a Hawkeye since the first time I went to a game with my dad,” Glaus said.

“I like the way they run their program, especially the strength and condition,” he continued. “Growing up through the Bettendorf football program, I have been taught nothing but excellence and that is also the way of a Hawkeye.”

As a senior, Glaus earned first team all-state honors after racking up 78 tackles on defense and rushing for 1,138 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense. At Iowa, he has the potential to play on either side of the ball.

“They talked about either linebacker or fullback, but nothing is set in stone yet,” said Glaus.
