Hawkeyes offer talented 2019 duo

The Iowa Hawkeyes have joined the race for highly recruited Class of 2019 teammates Devontae Dobbs and Julian Barnett from Belleville, Michigan. The pair of four-star recruits visited Iowa City on Monday morning with their coach Jermain Crowell and several of their teammates from Belleville High School.

"It was great," said Dobbs, a 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman. "The majority of our team was there, so it was fun to hang with them and get some of the younger guys introduced to the recruiting process."

"I liked it a lot," added Barnett, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver. "There's no pro team there, so you'd get the most love like you're pro and their facilities are nice and newly renovated."

As a sophomore in high school, Dobbs' offer list already includes more than 20 schools including the likes of Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Wisconsin, and Penn State just to name a few. Still, the four-star prospect appreciates every opportunity and is interested in learning more about the Hawkeyes.

"It was the highlight of my day," Dobbs said of Iowa's offer. "They have some really great coaches and I would love to create a better relationship with them."

Iowa was the ninth team to offer Barnett joining a list that includes Michigan State, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Iowa State, Central Michigan, and Toledo.
