Hawks add JUCO walk-on

The Iowa Hawkeyes have added a new junior college walk-on in wide receiver Andrew Stone. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Stone, who is originally from Cedar Falls, IA, will be starting classes at Iowa this week and going through off-season workouts with the team this semester.
Stone, who had 60 catches for 685 yards and 9 touchdowns this past season, chose Iowa over a similar walk-on opportunity at Iowa State primarily because of the Hawkeyes' need at slot receiver.

"With Coach Davis being the offensive coordinator, I believe they are hoping to transition to more 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR)," said Stone. "Iowa had a lack of slot receivers. With experience at this position at the junior college level, I feel I have an edge on the incoming freshmen."
"Iowa State is known more for their spread and had several scholarship players at the slot position, which ultimately led to my decision to come to Iowa," he continued.
Stone is the seventh new walk-on for the Hawkeyes this year and the fourth that will be enrolling at semester this week.
