On Tuesday morning, the new Rivals150 was released for the 2024 class, ranking some of the top basketball prospects in the country that will soon be seniors in high school.
The lone Iowa commit in the 2024 class, four-star forward Cooper Koch, finds himself on the list once again, coming in at No. 109. A product of Notre Dame High School in Peoria, Illinois, Koch is the son of former Hawkeye hooper J.R. Koch.
Our Midwest recruiting analyst Rob Cassidy had this to say of Koch in April: "I’ve heard good things about the 6-foot-8 forward’s ability to step out and shoot it from the perimeter. If he’s added significant strength and developed as a presence in the paint his offensive versatility is wildly intriguing.”
Koch committed to the Hawkeyes in late June last summer.
"I think Fran McCaffery is one of the most underrated coaches in the country in terms of developing players," He told Rivals before his commitment. "He took guys like Luka (Garza) and Keegan Murray and made them into the best players in the country.”
This spring and summer have been an eventful one for Koch, who plays his AAU ball for the Indiana Elite, a high-level club on the 3SSB circuit that has gone 23-1 to this point over the summer. Additionally, he took part in the Adidas Eurocamp in Treviso, Italy, spending time over seas from June 8-June 15.
While in Italy, he took part and represented the United States as part of their Select Team, participating in five-on-five games and skill work.
Other Iowa targets on the list include Jaeden Mustaf (No. 46), Pharoah Compton (No. 76) and Darion Sutton (No. 110).
